I forgot all about Labor Day, I wonder if anyone will be reading this entry today.   I guess I'll make it a short one.  Yesterday I had to reload Win XP on my laptop.   I did something wrong, so I'll have to reload it again.  Some of my files and folders that I saved to my external harddrive have disappeared.  And after I restored my emails to outlook express, I noticed that no saved emails after 4/06 were present.  I wonder where they went?
Before I upgraded to IE 7.0, I wanted to check a few spaces that people were having problems with.  Sure enough, IE closed down.  When I upgraded to IE 7.0, those same spaces opened right up.  SO, upgrade to IE 7.0., if you're having trouble.  FYI....Win XP was preloaded on the laptop and no CD was included in the purchase.  I had to contact Dell to send me one.

IIWK..... All computers sold with a pre-loaded operating system, will include the operating system on a CD.

In sad news, Steve Irwin, AKA "The Crocodile Hunter", was killed today by a stingray barb to the heart during a diving expedition.

While we were in Buffalo last week, we had to cancel our trip to the cabin in western New York.  Bucky Phillips, who escaped from a nearby jail on April 2nd is still on the loose.   He's somewhere in the woods near the cabin.  He is also wanted for the June 10th shooting of a state trooper.  The manhunt intensified Thursday after 2 state troopers were ambushed outside the home of Phillips ex-girlfriend.  The officers were in critical condition as 75 more troopers were called up to reinforce the search.  Hes been surviving by helping himself to food, clothes, and guns from unattended homes and hunting cabins and is believed to have stolen about 15 cars.

Less than 3 weeks until the first MSN Space Convention.  For those of you on the official list, please let me know if you are still attending.  Paula has a list on her site of people who are confirmed, I hope it is accurate.  Send me an email if you have any questions.

In Nascar news, Wisconsin native Matt Kenseth has taken over the lead in the points standings for the "chase for the cup".  HOO-RAH.

    I like using Firefox... :)
Of course, there are some sites... like MSN Spaces... that don't work the best on non-IE browsers.... oh well, c'est la vie.
And I hear you on the Software.  Good rule.  I totally agree.  Oh, and not just the "recovery disk," THE FULL OS!!!

Sad to hear about Mr. Irwin, what a way to go.
Only goes to show that man knows not how short life really is.

Just stopping for a quick hello. I'll have to try the IE 7 when IT guru says OK. Too bad you didn't make it the cabin. My dad used to take us each year and pretend he was a bear outside until we screamed. Ahhh the good ole days...

Hiya KT:  That is sad about Steve Irwin, he was a great conservationist before he became a celebrity. He truly loved animals.
Yes, it's Labour Day here in Canada today...woohooo...big deal, I'm retired...lol.
I have IE 7.0 and I don't have any problem with crashing, but I still have a problem with sites taking a long time to open.
My beloved computer guru loaded XP professional on my comp for me for free.  Unfortunately I've since found out that I can't upgrade anything because it's a countierfeit copy...sheeesh.  The XP home edition that he took off wasn't...maybe I should get him to put it back.
Hope you're having a great weekend.
    Hugs...Diane.

Hi Tom, It is sad about Steve. He was too young to die that's for sure. We've been away for a few days so I'm just going around checking to see what everyone has been up too. Is your media player working? I don't hear any music and I haven't bee able to get any to play on mine at all. I've tried several diff songs but none are working. Is it the player or filelodge I wonder.
    Well have a good day.

Seems like this is a good day for blogging. Penny was telling me about the death of the Crocodile Hunter.  She had heard it on the morning news.  Well, live by the sword, die by sword. Anyway, your posting is very timely. Guess I will go do a posting on Late Life. Have a Labor Day beer or three and enjoy!
